1. ‘Ausgewiesen wird das Entdeckend-sein der Aussage.’ Here and in the following pages we find the expression ‘Entdeckend-sein’ consistently printed with a hyphen in the more recent editions. In the older editions it is written sometimes as one word, sometimes as two, and it is hyphenated only at the ends of lines. In both editions we sometimes find this word printed with a lower-case initial. We have marked such cases with an asterisk; for while we prefer the translation ‘Being-uncovering’ in such cases, the lower-case initia suggests that ‘to-be-uncovering’ may be a better reading.
