The Claiming

From sound and light

the world is married.

Who remains the bride,

and in whose eyes?

The claiming has love

– that their shyness

remain the mistress –

dispossessed to the di-fference,

to its faithfulness,

most properly distinct

in a search that only finds

if it overcomes all it finds

in the wreath of the selfsame.

Light: lighting: rising – letting emerge:

Φύσις [nature]

Sound: sounding: breaking the silence as the gathering

of silence: the gathering of settling

gatherings (“harvest” – wine harvest)

Aus Licht und Laut

ist Welt getraut.

Wer bleibt die Braut,

von wem er-schaut?

Das Ereignis hat die Liebe

– daß ihre Scheu

die Herrin bliebe –

an den Unter-Schied enteignet,

ihm zur Treu

Getrenntestes geeignet

in ein Suchen, das nur findet,

wenn es jeden Fund verwindet

in den Kranz des Selben.
